Emergency Assistance Program

Join Catholic Charities' Junior Board in packaging groceries for clients of many different Catholic Charities programs.

This event takes place the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month in the basement of 721 N. LaSalle. Meet in the lobby at 6.

Big Shoulders Fund Give Back Days

The Big Shoulders Fund supports Catholic Schools in the neediest areas of Chicago, serving 93 inner-city schools through scholarships and grants.

The Auxiliary Board raises funds and creates volunteer opportunities for young professionals, including monthly "Give Back Days", where volunteers help paint, clean, landscape, and organize the school alongside alumni from other colleges, members of the Auxiliary Board and members of the school community. Breakfast is provided, and all are invited to join for a lunch in the community afterwards.

Calling all chefs! Cook dinner at the Ronald McDonald House!

What: Join a group of ND alums and put on your chef's hat to prepare dinner for the guests at the Ronald McDonald House. No experience necessary.

When: April 19th, 6-8 pm

Where: 622 W. Deming, Lincoln Park

Why: Come for one dinner and you'll see why everyone loves to participate!

You will be asked to bring a couple of food items, as we provide all the food for the dinner we prepare.


Volunteer Opportunity with Cabrini-Green Tutoring Program

7:30am - 1:00pm

The Cabrini-Green Tutoring Program is hosting its 14th annual Legs for Literacy 5K run and walk on Sunday, May 16th in Lincoln Park (starts and ends across from Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum).

Registration begins at 8, runners start at 9, and walkers start at 9:05.

Volunteers are needed to help set up, take down, hand out food and drinks, and course marshall.

The Cabrini-Green Tutoring Program, beginning its 43rd year of service, provides after-school tutoring for over 200 students in grades one through six. Most of the students live in or around the Cabrini Green housing project or come from economically disadvantaged families. Tutoring sessions are held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6:10 pm to 7:30 pm. Each student is paired with his/her own volunteer tutor. The program provides a safe, stable learning environment and individualized attention for the children.
